ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE CAREER FOR COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY PhD STUDENT

Open Position for a PhD Student at Computational Biology

PhD Student at Computational Biology

Description:

We are looking for a talented PhD student to take part in our current project on investigating the association between beta-cell coupling and the progression of diabetes. The successful candidate will be working on developing computational models of beta-cell electrophysiology in a close collaboration with researchers from molecular biology and physics. At Biometalab we are investigating the biological and metabolic processes via coupling power of computational modeling with experimental data. Our lab is located at Erzurum Technical University. Our team involves researchers from mathematical and biological backgrounds. We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student in the field of molecular biology and genetics. The position is for 2 years and the project is funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). We are investigating the bi-directional relation between the progression of diabetes and the coupling strength between pancreatic beta-cells.

Who we are looking for:

You have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, biomedical engineering or a related area. You are passionate about mathematical modeling. You are a team player with good verbal and oral communication skills. You have practical experience with programing (experience with MATLAB and/or Python is a plus but not required).
